Nina has an older brother named Alexander. Nina’s family moved to Canada when she was two years old and they lived in Toronto, Ontario until 2009.

From a very young age, Nina Dobrev showed great enthusiasm for dance, gymnastics, theatre, music, and acting. From modeling jobs to commercials, Nina began auditioning for films. She was booked for roles in feature films such as Fugitive Pieces (2007), Away from Her (2006), The Perks of Being a Wallflower (2012), Let's Be Cops (2014), The Final Girls (2015), xXx: Return of Xander Cage (2017), and Dog Days (2018).

In order to not feel tired after eating three large meals a day, Nina Dobrev has switched her diet to portioned meals. Using a special technique, Nina consumes fat the size of her thumb, the size of her palm in protein, and then unlimited veggies. She eats way more than she used to but portioning her meals makes her feel a lot leaner.

Nina works out a lot and her secret is music. Working out to a beat allows her to keep going even when she would normally feel tired. Nina works out three to five times a week.
