Dr. Claire Saunders was a doctor that was killed and her personality has been imprinted on the Active that you see now. ‘This’ Dr. Saunders is more of a messenger. She is used for top secret communication for high level Dollhouse personnel only. She is the doctor that cares for the Dollhouse Actives when they are hurt or need a regular check ups. She is used as an executive as well. For instance, every high level Dollhouse board member has their mind backed up on a hard drive and in the event that they die, their mind is downloaded into Dr. Saunders body so they can continue living through her body. Wow, that’s just messed up and strange for a dozen different reasons. As you can see, the Dollhouse has no regard for anyone‘s humanity but their own.

In some ways she is evolving similar to Echo but not quite the same. She is more of a silent observer waiting to make her moves from the shadows. She has her own agenda and plans for some of the characters. Convincing the other characters to follow her plan is a whole task onto its self. Freedom is her primary goal. She really wants to live a normal life away from this creepy underworld with the people that she cares for.

Amy Acker does a good job playing all the different personalities in this show. Some of the personalities are unintentionally funny actually.
